You know, for me it’s all about the music, nothing more, nothing less…

Music is my first and only love.

I fell in love with it when I was a little girl and the relationship just grew stronger and deeper with the years.

Whatever I do, wherever I go - I feel music, I trust music.
I guess it’s in my blood.

I hope that one-day, music will support me, but up until that day, I’m doing everything I can to support my music, and that is what best friends do for each other…

Gena Perala is a singer, songwriter, and poet who is always out to challenge the way she and the people around her live and think. She spent much of her childhood summers on the Carnival Circuit with her parents, which could explain her astute lyrical insight into human nature and the world around us. This, combined with her intimacy on stage and vulnerability within her work, creates an atmosphere of poignancy and revelation. She works with an inspiring amount of determination, consistently expanding her talent and moving her audiences through both poetry and music. Her writing is raw, it's real and it's relevant.

Gena started performing and competing in the Vancouver Poetry Slam and since then has performed for the United Nations, Sista'hood, Word on the Street and the PNE Main Stage to name a few.   She is a featured artist for the documentary "Fixing Capitalism" (2005) www.fixingcapitalism.ca and was the winner of the Rock the Vote Audio Contest in which she won $1500.00 telling people why they should vote.

She has published 2 books of poetry, "I'm a Worst Case Scenario Type of Girl" in 2003 and "Clean Getaway" in 2005.   She has just finished recording her debut solo album entitled 'this ain't pretty', available online www.genaperala.com

S.George Brown (Jazz-Singer/Songwriter) MP3 Click to play an mp3 sample. S.George Brown

Biography: S.George Brown here. Well, I've been a huge fan of all the great singers (Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat"King"Cole, Dean Martin...) and the lives that they lived for as long as I can remember. I also new that I could sing those tunes and have had dreams of doing it for years. I've enjoyed a pretty great career in rock, I'm the current bass player for the legendary Canadian rock icons 'Trooper'.

Finally though, after a great deal of studying the stylizations of these singers, then more time learning how to create a sound of my own, I think I'm finally there! I think this style of music needs to continue to be represented in a way that I feel confident in delivering. I, along with piano player and writing partner Bill Perison, have just completed our first CD and are currently seeking management, distribution, licensing, recording deal (in what ever order it happens!)

Since the release of her first solo album, 'Renaissance' Kennedy Jenson has been reaping the rewards of all her hard work as an independent recording artist. Airplay across Canada for both 'Renaissance' and 'Affairs of the Heart' (her second CD) plus numerous performances have kept Kennedy very busy.

Kennedy got her start as a founding member of the eighties hit makers Jenson Interceptor. She sang on a nationally broadcast television show for four years, toured with variety shows to such far away places as Australia, Israel and Egypt, and was the support act for concerts headlined by stars like Ray Charles, k.d. lang, and The Mills Brothers.

In 2001 Jenson was a featured artist with both Edmonton and Winnipeg Symphony Orchestras. The performances were a success and very warmly received.

Print journalists who have reviewed Kennedy's shows unanimously note that this attractive artist's additional experience and background in acting, dancing and other artistic disciplines allow her to interact with audiences with a refreshing and genuine sincerity.
